Orthoptera

Orthoptera are an order of medium to large-sized insects that utilize their long and powerful hind legs for jumping. This order includes well-known groups such as grasshoppers and crickets, as well as many others whose characteristics and features interested individuals can discover through a wealth of lectures, workshops, and field research. They are particularly intriguing due to their distinctive “song,” which almost everyone has heard at least once in their lifetime. We invite all those who wish to learn to recognize and explore these fascinating insects to join us in uncovering the whispers of the meadow.
