The section was founded in 2009 with the aim of gathering all malacology enthusiasts or some of its subdiscipline lovers. At the moment, the phylum Mollusca contains around 125 000 species divided into 7 classes, we could say that we are a small section with great potential.
Mollusks can be found almost everywhere, from the deserts up to mountain tops, in extreme environments or in the garden behind your house, in the ocean bottoms, or in the bushes behind buildings. Our activities are fieldwork, visiting museums, writing scientific reports, and hourly determination.
If any of the stated activities sounds tempting come and see what we do, maybe you’ll join us!
